It has been a few weeks since the tour ended, David was still getting use to being single and being home. Girls were just as easy, but he just sort of… lost his mojo. He use to capture girls just by a simple glance, but since he returned home, he had lost his touch. Maybe it was because he had just gotten back into the bachelor life? He was heartbroken yes, and hadn’t had much urge to sleep with random girls. If he did get lucky, it was always with a female whose appearance was similar to Eleanor’s, as sad as it sounded. The boy had never been in love, he never even admitted his current feelings, and it was fucking with his mind extremely. Tonight, he was at a club, his favorite in town, actually. He had always managed to get lucky there, but apparently he was rusty, he had struck out with every girl he approached. Sure, his appearance brought them in, but the words that came out of his mouth weren’t as clever as usual, so he fucked it up almost instantly.
For some reason, he was having a bad night and he had found himself in front of Zack’s house. He wasn’t even sure if his younger brother figure was home, but he didn’t care, he just knocked heavily. He was slightly drunk, which didn’t help the massive amount of thoughts going through his mind. He wanted to just rant or take out his anger, which was way he was at Zack’s front porch. ”ZACKKKKK!!!!!!”, he called out loudly, he didn’t care if James was there. He wasn’t aware that Ransom was living there just yet, so his attention was just on Zack. ”OPENNN THE DOOOOORRRR!!!!!”
, he called out louder, he could be a bit obnoxious when under the influence. He wasn’t usually one to open up to anyone, if anyone, it’d probably be Josey, only because she always managed to get stupid shit out of him. He knocked two more times, looking around drunkly, he didn’t see a car in the driveway, which only frustrated him more. WORDS: 354 TAGGED: Ransom NOTES: omg! dgklshglkjsaf! it had been a few weeks since the tour had gotten over and only a few days since she had moved into her boyfriends brothers home, but already ransom felt rather at home. she knew that it was definitely get used to, seeing as james was sweet and zack was trying as hard as he possibly could to make things better for them, and he was going a pretty good job as far as she was concerned. she could already tell that, despite their age, he was going to be an amazing father to their child, and she was sort of excited. this all made her glad that she had finally landed herself with zack, not that she hadn't had feelings for him for a long time, because she had. but after she slept with his older brother figure.. well, things got awkward and she had felt much less than worth it. when it came down to the facts, though, she loved zack with all her heart and she knew she couldn't have chosen a better father for her child.
as of now, james and zack were out of the house doing some sort of business. she couldn't remember what exactly that was, but whatever they were doing she was sure it was important. for right now, she was cooking dinner, even though it was way past dinner time. it was actually her second dinner, whatever. she was pregnant, she was pretty sure she had a good excuse to be eating so much. right now, there was a meat loaf in the oven. for some odd reason that's what she had felt like making, whether it was because that was what she wanted to eat or because it was fun to make, she wasn't sure, but that's what she would be eating not long from now. silently, ransom sat on the couch eating a bowl of orange ice-cream while watching a movie about a single mother who had to raise her child in some ghetto neighborhood. she couldn't say it wasn't sad, and she definitely couldn't say she wasn't crying a little bit.
the eighteen year old jumped when she heard someone at the door, jumping to her feet the second the pounding on the door became audible. she set her bowl on the coffee table, hearing a voice ring through the door. ransom knew that voice only too well. she opened the door, giving him a smile. "hey, david. zack isn't home right now, but you're welcome to come in and hang out for awhile until he gets here.." her voice was gentle as she stepped out of the doorway for him to come in.

David sighed dramatically, he was really hoping the kid was home, I mean the light was on, wasn’t someone fucking home? And if James was home, he’d just release his anger out on him, AGAIN. David was already sporting a black eye again, that’s twice in the last few months, was he ever going to last with a clear face again? The odds are… probably not. He pissed too many people off and it was usually the wrong people, unfortunately for him. The bruise upon his face was black and a bit purplish, yes, the bruise was still fresh and it was far worse than it was the last time. Perhaps his stupid eye was why he was striking out tonight? The thought never really came to him though; he was too intoxicated to think that clearly. He wasn’t plastered drunk though, he’d most definitely remember tonight, but he wasn’t clearheaded enough to stop thinking about the stupid shit going on in his life.
He was about to turn to head home, but then the door opened and he turned to look, his hair slightly in his face. It had become a mess from every time he had scratched his head right now out of frustration. He took a breath and nodded, thank god he wasn’t wobbling, that would have been just stupid. She had stepped aside and with that, David had walked on inside. He hadn’t spoken to Ransom much, he’d only seen her whenever Zack brought her around the band, but they were at least civil to one another. He looked around seeing a bowl of ice cream on the coffee table, he couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, Girls.., he thought as she plopped down on the couch, a part him almost wanted to help himself to the ice cream that lay before him, but he was too lazy to move now.
He looked at the television then back at Ransom, his eyes went to her tiny stomach, he knew what was in there, Zack had already informed him on that. He chuckled a bit, ”That better not be mine in there or else… ABORT”
, he closed his eyes as he lightly laughed, and looked up at her face after a moment. Why the fuck did he do that? He shook his head, ”My bad… asshole seems to be my default setting.. “, he rolled his eyes, mostly at himself. His expression quickly changed from joy to a light glare, he looked away from her and sort of into space, as Eleanor came to mind. Was he too hard on her? Did he have to end it like that? He looked down at his hands and sighed lightly, it wasn’t exactly a good idea to be under the influence when you had a load of shit on your mind, especially if you were David. ransom watched at the blonde boy walked into her new home, smiling at him gently the whole time. he didn't look particularly sober.. not that he looked drunk or anything, but ransom knew david to an extent. this wasn't exactly how he acted when he was sober. she wondered if there was something wrong and that was why he wanted to see zack so bad.. maybe he just wanted to come over and hang out. she wasn't sure, but he was sadly shit out of luck, considering he was looking for her boyfriend. as david took a few steps out in front of her she closed the door quietly, following along behind him. they managed to get back to the couch just in time to see the mothers young child get shot during a drive by, a small gasp escaping her lips. that was horrible, she didn't think she would be able to handle herself if that ever happened to her. she didn't even want to imagine her child getting shot. she seriously might have killed herself. having to bury your daughter or son seemed worse than facing actual death. without thinking about it, ransom changed the channel to a random channel she knew didn't show things like that. she sat down next to david just in time to hear his comment, smirking and shaking her head. honestly, things like that from david didn't really get to her anymore. maybe a few months ago she would've freaked out and been upset, but since she'd been dating zack, she had come to the realization that that was just how david was.
"oh," she gave a small shrug with a small smile. "i don't mind, i guess. it doesn't really bother me anymore, david. i've kind of gotten used to it." she managed to say as the timer on the oven went off and she stood up. "i'll be back in just a second, and i'll bring you some food, too, okay?" she said with a sweet smile, rushing into the kitchen to pull the meat loaf out of the oven. it only took a few minutes to pull it out and dish up two plates with home-made meat loaf and mashed potatoes with gravy. she grabbed two forks and made her way back out the to living room. quietly, she handed him a plate before sitting down beside him on the couch, her legs folded beneath her. ransom took a small bite, chewing slowly for a few moments. she had worked on her walking problem, knowing that just months ago she walked slower than a sloth, not that it was entirely her fault. now, though, she was capable of going a little faster around the house and down the street, though she was still an extremely slow eater. "so, david." she started after swallowing her food. "how have you been?" she was showing true interest, whether it was because she was truly interested or because she wanted to seem polite, she wasn't sure.

David didn’t really care what on earth the girl was watching; it looked like some sort of drama movie, which he wasn’t really into. David was much more of a comedy guy, the kid just simply loved to laugh. His attention was on his hands now, he really did wish Zack was home, Zack was one of the few people that he could talk to, or at least the kid knew exactly how to distract David. The kid was diagnosed with ADHD; just watching him in full on hyper mode was enough for David to get his mind off of other things. But unfortunately Zack was absent and David was sitting on here with Zack’s pregnant girlfriend, a girl he didn’t really expect on talking to right now. He heard the channel change, but didn’t allow it to distract his focus, he was basically zoning out as more thoughts and wonders came to mind. Her next words definitely surprised him, that was good that she was used to him and his foul mouth, it took most people longer to understand how he was wired. He had hoped the two were still civil, for Zack at least. He heard a noise coming from the kitchen, guessing it was the oven, this made him look up, mostly because it had slightly startled him. He only gave her an innocent nod as she exited the living room and disappeared into the kitchen, he wasn’t sure if he was hungry, but he was sure not going to drink anymore tonight.
Ransom hadn’t taken long, she placed a plate in his lap before he could accept or deny, ”Thanks..”
, he said quietly. He looked at the food, this was actually pretty nice of her, his head was still spinning a little, so he didn’t want to take a bite just yet. He picked up the fork, but was sort of playing with the mashed potatoes. The aroma of the food definitely gave off the impression that this meal would be a delightful one, but David was just too in his head to do anything physically. She spoke again and with that he looked up at her, he gave a light shrug, ”I’ve…. Just… been…”, he shook his head, not really knowing exactly how to answer that. He was usually better at hiding his emotions when things were on his mind, but for some reason, right now he couldn’t. Perhaps it was the alcohol within him that didn’t allow him to put on his usual façade, or the fact that this emotional pull that this certain had on him had just gotten too heavy to handle, even for him. ”I’m.. fine… just stupid shit, really”, he said with another light shrug, this time getting a fork full of mash potatoes and a small piece of meat loaf. He didn’t put it in his mouth yet though, but it was ready for him, ”You? Hows…?”, he said gesturing to her stomach. He didn’t want the attention on him anymore, so he attempted to change the subject a bit. ”And how do you like Vegas?”, he asked as he placed the food in his mouth finally, never would he have guessed that he’d be sitting here having dinner with Ransom right now, asking how she’d been and what not. There was obviously something wrong with him, he had been off of his game for a few weeks now. And the more time that passes by, the more off he gets. ransom and david had a rather bad past. sure, they were civil to one another, but it had taken a lot while they were on tour to look over the things that had happened between them. david had stolen her virginity and it ended up being broadcast to the whole tour. everyone knew about it, and all thanks to a man that later on hurt her and many of the other girls on tour. of course, while ransom would never forgive the many who had written a blog about it and was the blame for much of the emotional trauma many of the girls went through, she was slowly learning how to let things go. she knew that david hadn't meant anything by it. in fact, he had told her that if he had known she was still a minor at that point in time, he wouldn't have done it. ransom knew that he hadn't meant any harm to her, he was just thinking about having sex with her. he was thinking with the wrong head, which, wasn't much different than any other guy in their teenage and young adult years. sex was all that was on the brain for a majority of the guys, and when it wasn't, they were being peer pressured into it. which was why ransom had had sex with zack and was now resulting in the small child growing inside of her. come to think of it... it had been david to peer pressure zack into thinking he needed to have sex, but that was beside the point. when it came down to the facts, ransom had completely forgiven david for the things that had happened during the beginning of the tour by the end of it.
ransom gave him a small smile before taking a bite as he thanked her. she was happy to cook and clean for other people. for some reason she believed it was something like her calling in life. sure, she loved making music, but that was more of a hobby than a life choice for her. she could see herself being what someone called a 'trophy wife'. she cooked, cleaned, and was prepared to take care of the children, not because she felt that it was an obligation, but because she enjoyed doing it. there was rarely a time when james or zack came home and there wasn't food on the table or the house wasn't spotless. since zack wouldn't really let her work, she was happy to take some of the work load off of them when they got home from doing whatever. though, there were times when james wouldn't let her cook or clean or anything like that. she kind of disliked it, but she supposed that a break was nice every once in awhile. she just got to sit back and watch television even though she most often badgered him to see if he needed help. she really didn't like it when people waited on her like she was some kind of princess. sure, she was pregnant, but that didn't mean that she couldn't do things. and she didn't look like she was ready to pop a kid out her vag... not yet, at least. the time would come and james would have a good reason to make her sit, but that time was not now.
ransom listened to david talk and nodded long when it was needed. of course he was just doing stupid shit, he was always doing stupid shit. he wouldn't be david if he wasn't doing stupid shit. she smiled lightly as he asked her how she was. this wasn't really something she expected, but she would answer. "the doctor says that i'm awfully big for two months pregnant.. i mean, i've gained a lot of weight... and morning sickness sucks." she said with a small shrug. she didn't really know how to explain it, that was the best she could. the doctor had also told her that it was quite possible she would be having identical twins because that stuff ran in through the mother. "vegas is.. okay? i miss cincinnati." she said with a small laugh. "i'm going home to visit soon, so hopefully that'll make things a little better." she took another bite as an awkward pause crept up on them. after swallowing she bit her lip for a second. "how do you like being home and stuff?" she didn't know what else to say to him. it wasn't like they had endless amounts of questions to ask each other. she didn't even think they were really interested in the others personal lives.

There was still a present warm vibration in his head and throughout his body thanks to the alcohol he had consumed earlier, but the only effects it really had on him was keeping him in one place and his mind on another. Maybe he should have went home and not here. Times like these he wished Josey was around… Sure, he had Duncan, but knowing his best friend, Duncan would probably do the same thing David would have done if the situation was vice versa…..laugh his ass off. David and Duncan never really had those gay conversations about their feelings, only because even if they tried it’d only be interrupted by alcohol, drugs, or one of them saying something completely ridiculous. Duncan’s seen the change in David though, he knew David inside and out, he probably knew what his problem was too. But Duncan was a good enough friend to know David well enough; David never wanted to talk about shit like this, which is why Duncan never truly questioned him. When David was ready to talk about it, he would.
David nodded, only half listening really, but he was actually trying his best to pay attention to her. He needed this slight distraction, as she explained how her pregnancy was going, he took another bite. He was slightly disturbed by the mere mention of morning sickness, but it was something pregnant women had to go through. ”I sure am glad I’m not a woman…no offence”
, he said quietly, it was true too. Woman had it kind of bad as far as he knew… they had to have periods, go through pregnancy, put on makeup and do their hair every morning, cook, clean, shave their legs and what not, etc. Being a woman seemed like a lot of work to David, he was one of the laziest and most impatient people on the planet, he couldn’t have done it. Plus, he really did enjoy being a guy, he couldn’t dare imagine being a girl. If he was a girl, he’d definitely be a lesbian. On second thought…. He looked off into the distance, actually enjoying the image, but shaking his head slightly, his mind was getting WAY too distracted right now. Ransom started talking again, answering his Vegas question. He was a little surprised that she said Vegas was ‘okay’, but then he gave a second glance at the situation and realized, that it was Ransom, and she was pregnant. She hadn’t had the opportunity to really live out Vegas, plus, she didn’t seem like the type of girl. Maybe Vegas just wasn’t for her. Vegas was for David though, he wouldn’t live any place else, NOT EVEN L.A. ”Aah, I thought pregnant people couldn’t fly on planes?”, he asked curiously, he could be wrong, it was David and the kid wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box. He shrugged a bit and took another forkful of food, his buzz still present but tolerable for now. He was slowly getting more and more distracted until she asked her next question, it just reminded him of how bad he was doing at the moment. The expression on his face changed from calm back to troubled, ”It’s cool… honestly, I wish we were still on tour… but shit can’t last forever, right?”, he said with a small shrug as he placed the fork down, suddenly losing his appetite. He leaned over and placed the half eaten plate on the coffee table before them. If he ate more, the alcohol might have triggered his food to go back where it came from causing him to throw it up. Plus, he didn’t really feel like doing much right now. WORDS: 615 TAGGED: Ransom NOTES: (: [/blockquote][/blockquote]
